Send us an STL, 3MF or STEP file and we will print it. OBJ works too. Upload it on our quote page, or send us a link to the model, and you will have a price, a material recommendation and an expected dispatch date within 24 hours on working days. The quote is free and there is no obligation.
Which file format should you send?
STL
The most common format for 3D printing. An STL describes the surface of a shape as a mesh of small triangles. It carries the shape only, with no colour, and no units: it does not say whether a size is millimetres or inches. Almost every 3D program can export one.
3MF
A newer mesh format that packs the model into a single file and keeps the units with it. If your program offers 3MF, it is a good choice, because the size arrives the way you meant it.
STEP
A CAD format. Where an STL approximates curves with triangles, a STEP file holds the exact solid shape, so it is the format to send if you designed the part in CAD and want it true to your drawing.
OBJ
Another mesh format. We accept it, and it is handy if that is what your program exports.
Something else? Tell us what you have. If all you have is a link to a model on Printables or Thingiverse, send that over and we will sort it out.
What makes a good print file
The right scale
Because an STL has no units, a part drawn in inches can be read as millimetres and print 25 times too small. Export in millimetres where you can, and tell us the length of the longest side in the notes. If you tell us what the part is for, we can check the size against it.
Walls that are thick enough
Thin walls and fine details can be too delicate to print well. We will tell you if walls are too thin, so you know before you pay.
A watertight model
The model should be a single closed solid, with no holes or gaps in the surface and no faces that cut through each other. A model with gaps can confuse the slicing software, which turns the model into layers for the printer. If your model needs repair, we will say so and tell you what to do about it.
Overhangs
Parts that stick out over thin air need supports while printing. We tell you when a design needs them, and standard support removal is included in the price.
A size that fits the printer
We print up to 256 x 256 x 256 mm in one piece. Bigger objects are printed in sections and joined, which suits large props.
Which material?
We print in three materials. PLA is rigid and detailed and is right for most jobs. Tough PETG suits functional parts. TPU is flexible and rubbery. Not sure which to pick? Choose "Not sure, recommend one" on the form and tell us what the part is for, and we will recommend one.
How the quote works
- Send your file. Use the quote form to upload it or share a link, and add the material, colour, quantity and any notes. Prefer email? Send it to [email protected].
- We check it. File checks are free. We weigh the job, because material weight is the biggest part of the price.
- You get a quote. It arrives within 24 hours on working days and stays valid for 14 days. The price you are quoted is the price you pay. Postage is charged at cost and shown on its own line.
- You accept in writing. Email is fine. Orders under £50 are paid before printing. Larger orders are a 50% deposit, with the balance before dispatch.
- We print and post. Dispatched in 2 to 4 working days for most jobs, by Royal Mail Tracked 48.
The minimum order for custom prints is £12. You can see typical prices for different kinds of job on the Pricing page. If you are in a hurry, rush service (+50%) puts your job ahead of standard orders.
Is my file safe with you?
Yes. Your files are never shown to other customers, reused, sold or printed for anyone else, and we delete them on request. For sensitive work we are happy to sign an NDA.
You keep all rights to your design. If you are sending a model you downloaded, check that its licence lets someone print it for you. Our FAQ covers what we will and will not print.
Ready to send a file?
Head to the quote page and upload your file. Not sure it is ready? Send it anyway. If it needs a fix, we will tell you how.
