Description
Take up the extra room in your ski boots
If your boots fit well for length and width but your foot still moves around inside, the problem is usually volume. A low instep leaves a gap over the top of your foot, and that gap lets your heel lift every time you flex forward. That costs you control and comfort.
These full-length volume reducers sit in the boot shell underneath your liner. They lift your foot up into the space so your instep meets the tongue and your heel stays locked in the heel pocket. Because they run the full length of the boot, your stance angle stays the same. That makes them a simple, adjustable fix that doesn’t change how the boot was designed to ski.
Why not foam?
Most volume reducers are foam pads sold in broad sizes like M, L and XL. You trim them to fit, and over a season they compress, so the fit you paid for slowly disappears. These are different:
- Made to your exact mondo size. No cutting, no guesswork: each pair is printed to match your boot shell.
- They don’t flatten. TPU springs back, so a 4mm reducer is still doing a 4mm job at the end of the season.
- Four precise thicknesses. 2, 3, 4 or 5mm, so you can fine-tune the fit rather than settling for one size.
Why TPU
- Flexible and durable. 3D printed in TPU 95A, a tough flexible material that won’t crack, compress flat or go brittle in the cold.
- Slight cushioning. A low-density internal structure gives a little give underfoot rather than a hard, dead feel.
- Moisture resistant. TPU doesn’t absorb sweat or snowmelt, so it won’t go soggy or smell.
- Feathered for comfort. Smooth edges and a flat profile, with nothing to press into your foot through the liner.
Choose your fit
- Mondo size: match the mondo size printed on your boot shell (for example 27.5). Each pair is printed to that size.
- Thickness: 2mm, 3mm, 4mm or 5mm. Choose 2 to 3mm for a small amount of slop, or 4 to 5mm for noticeable heel lift or a low instep. Not sure? Start thinner; many skiers buy two thicknesses to compare.
- Colour: black or white.
Marked for easy fitting
Every reducer has its thickness and side recessed into the underside (for example “5mm L” and “5mm R”), so you always know which is which and can swap between thicknesses without guesswork.
Fitting
- Remove the liner from your boot.
- Place the reducer flat on the floor of the shell, marked side down, matching left and right.
- Refit the liner, buckle up as normal and flex forward into a skiing stance.
- Your heel should stay down without pressure points on the top of your foot. If it feels too tight, try the next thickness down.
What’s included
One pair (left and right) of TPU volume reducers in your chosen mondo size, thickness and colour.
Made to order. Volume reducers improve fit by taking up space in the boot; they are not a substitute for professional boot fitting or orthotic advice. If you have persistent pain or numbness, see a qualified boot fitter.
